Escalator Records

Escalator Records was a Tokyo-based record label that experimented with different aspects of avant-garde pop music.

Escalator Records was a Japanese record label, a record store and a café in Shibuya, Tokyo. The label hosted artists such as Yukari Fresh, Miniflex and Avalon.

Kokoro & Moi designed the brand identity for the record label and the Escalator Café, graphics and music packaging for two compilation series – We Are Escalator Records and We Were Escalator Records – as well as prints for the Escalator Records clothing line. The artists on the label mostly experimented with different aspects of avant-garde pop music and the visuals reflected this approach.
